Glaucus and Scylla exhibition label Narrative 1
Narrative: Glaucus asked the goddess Circe to make the water nymph Scylla return his love, but Circe became enamoured of Glaucus and poisoned the waters where Scylla bathed. The nymph became a monster and was rooted to the spot. Scylla would later terrorise the fleets of Ulysses and Aeneas after the sack of Troy.
